Abstract
Metal oxide arrester can limit the operation of overvoltage by absorbing the energy of overvoltage to a certain extent. However, in UHV system, the conventional zinc oxide arrester still has shortcomings in terms of economy, voltage limiting effect and operation reliability. In order to overcome these shortcomings, some scholars put forward the method of using the power electronic controllable arrester to change the volt-ampere characteristics of zinc oxide arrester and limit the system operating overvoltage. There has been a lot of preliminary research work on the power electronic controllable arrester, but the on-line monitoring of its switch has not been carried out yet. In this paper, the influence of arrester fault on the overall potential distribution was determined by simulation, and an experimental research platform was established to carry out leakage current experiments on single-layer power electronic switches under different volttimes and temperatures, so as to study the influence of temperature change and single-layer short circuit on resistance current. By detecting the resistance component of arrester leakage current, The change rate of resistance current cubed before and after failure is taken as the characteristic quantity to realize the fault monitoring of controllable arrester.
