Abstract
•Dynamic strengths are predicted by the incubation characteristic time (ICT) criterion.•Unified strength theory is coupled with the ICT to develop a new constitutive model.•Two plasticity-damage laws are introduced to describe the mechanical degradation.•The proposed model implemented in ABAQUS is examined by single element tests.•Comparisons of experimental and numerical results validate the proposed model.
