Design, Activity Evaluation and Clinical Nursing Significance of Novel Peptides for the Treatment of Lumbar Disc Herniation

Lumbar disc herniation (LDH) is a common and frequently encountered disease in clinic. The most common symptom of LDH is pain in the lower back and legs, which is often seen in adults and the elderly, a clinical syndrome characterized by stimulation and compression of nerve roots and cauda equina. For the treatment of LDH novel peptides were designed and the activity evaluation were conducted. The ELISA assay was conducted to measure the inhibitory activity of the new peptides on the inflammatory cytokines releasing. The relative expression of matrix metalloproteinase was also determined with the real time RT-PCR assay.
