Abstract
The study utilized a novel software-based approach to analyze the arrangement of nanofiber mats formed on the surface of a collector. The aim was to assess the potential modifications in certain operational factors of the electrospinning process. This technique employed commonly available image processing software to gather information about the influence of the distance between the nozzle and collector screen, as well as the area covered by the nanofibers. The findings revealed that the optimal conditions for operating with a 9% PVA solution were a working voltage of 20 kV, a needle-to-collector distance ranging from 10 to 17 cm, and a needle size of 25G. When compared to a voltage of 15 kV, the area of the nanomat deposited at a voltage of 20 kV exhibited an increase of 7 to 27% (depending on the needle size).
