Pd nanoparticles supported on microflower NiMOF modified roughed nickel foam with the enhanced active site for electrochemical dechlorination of trichloroacetic acid

•Pd/NF electrodes modified by NiMOF interlayer were employed for dechlorination.•Pd/NiMOF/RNF electrode showed better dechlorination efficiency and stability.•The flower-like NiMOF structure provides a larger specific surface area and active sites.•The Pd/NiMOF/RNF electrode exhibited significantly higher efficiency in removing CAAs from tap water.
