Author Response to "Letter to the Editor: Academic Radiology Departments Should Lead Artificial Intelligence Initiatives"

We thank Drs. Abuzaid and Elshami for their interest in our work. We agree with the reviewers that radiographers have substantial and noteworthy interaction with artificial intelligence (AI) applications. We wholeheartedly agree that the entire radiology team, including radiographers, are critical to ensuring that AI reaches its maximum potential for radiology. When we refer to an academic radiology department, we refer to the entire department, which consists certainly of radiologists, but also radiographers and other imaging technologists, researchers, administrators, etc. We appreciate their highlighting of these important members of academic radiology departments and look forward to seeing more academic departments lead the development and integration of AI, radiologists and all.
