摘要
The need of reliable phantoms in order not to depend on patients and simulations is in growing demand. The possibility of having as good device models as possible in a timely and cost-effective manner is always welcome. This work focuses on the development of homogeneous and heterogeneous phantoms that mimic the dielectric behavior of biological breast tissues. The results were analyzed in contrast to in-vivo and ex-vivo measurements performed on biological breast tissues of real patients with the help of an open-circuit coaxial probe, in a frequency range from 500 MHz to 8.5 GHz. In addition a fully controlled environment was used to ensure the criteria and protocols for an accurate and efficient recording of the measurements. For the heterogeneous phantoms the properties are maintained for about 6 weeks and for the homogeneous case for about 12 months, both at room temperature.
