One‐pot synthesis of indolizin‐1‐yl‐pyrimidines from ethyl 3‐(3‐ethoxy‐3‐oxopropanoyl) indolizine‐1‐carboxylate, DMF‐DMA and amidines

We have described herein a metal-free one-pot synthesis of indolizin-1-yl-pyrimidines from ethyl 3-(3-ethoxy-3-oxopropanoyl) indolizine-1-carboxylate, DMF-DMA and amidines. This protocol provides the tethering of indolizine scaffold with various 2-substitutted pyrimidines using simple starting materials. This new chemo-types may be useful in drug discovery and material science exploration.
