Design of efficient double-sample sampling system of inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry

•An efficient double-sample sampling system was established by increasing the sample channels and tee valve on the hardware and the calibration factor (R = 2) on the software.•The efficient double-sample sampling system can realize simultaneous introduction of single-element sample and single-element sample, single-element sample and multi-element sample, as well as multi-element sample and multi-element sample.•It provides a strategy to improve the efficiency of analytical instruments by the necessary optimization on the hardware and the software.
