Influence of the Stabilizing Nozzle on the Quality of High-Speed Plasma Metallization

Improving the quality of metals in additive manufacturing is of great interest currently. To date, there has been almost no research on the creation of monolithic workpieces by layer-by-layer plasma metallization. The present study shows that a uniform distribution of molten material over the workpiece surface may be obtained. A model is proposed for drop formation and separation in different plasmatron configurations.
