Abstract
This review focuses on the recent advancements of hydrogel in biomedical applications. Hydrogels are polymeric substances that could physically or chemically preserve their shape in the presence of nanoparticles or nanostructures in water. Also covered were the definition and six classifications of hydrogel. Furthermore, various materials can be added to the hydrogel network to produce reinforced composite hydrogels. Thus, the hybridization of hydrogel with nanomaterials and carbon nanotubes was incorporated into this work. The hybrid hydrogel was also investigated as integrating nanoparticles into a network of polymeric hydrogel is an intriguing method for changing the mechanical properties of hydrogels.
