Effects of Additives on the Performance of Methyl Sulfonate Tinplating Bath

Methyl sulfonate tin plating bath is a kind of new tin plating electrolyte which possesses high production efficiency,good environmental properties and excellent performance.In this research,effects of additives on the performance of methyl sulfonate tinplating bath were analyzed using electrochemical technology.The results showed that after adding additives the deposition potential of tin ion was enhanced.Compared with the antioxidant,additive A exerted bigger effect on the polarization properties of the bath.And the combination of additive A and antioxidant made the bath show much better performance than using them singly.When the concentration of additive and antioxidant was in 25 mL/L and 20 mL/L,the deposition potential of tin ion was in-0.625 V,and the throwing and covering power of bath was about 98% and 95% respectively.
