摘要
Viruses play an important role in humanity since they can disrupt people's life significantly. Dissemination of the most known viruses in a population can be prevented by vaccination. However, for some viruses, including human immunodeficiency virus, Dengue virus, and some others there is no effective method for their elimination or prevention. Identification of viral infection progression mechanisms is essential for the development of novel therapeutic strategies. Determining host proteins essential for the viral-host interaction represents one of the key points to understanding the mechanisms of viral disease progression. In the chapter, we consider the experimental, bio-, cheminformatics, and machine learning approaches for the identification of host proteins and genes involved in the mechanisms of viral diseases progression.
