摘要

•21 Accessions of P. veris subsp. macrocalyx were studied for presence of BB.•Predominant occurrence of BB is in basal rhizome parts.•Riccardin-C (1) was isolated from rhizomes and its structure elucidated.•Relative amounts of 1 varied between populations of different geographic origin.•Compound 1 and related BB showed pronounced cytotoxic activities.
