Abstract
The properties of high-strength martensitic 05Х16Н5АБ stainless steel fasteners (such as bolts and screws) are considered. They are compared with the properties of other high-strength or stainless steel fasteners. The high fatigue strength of the steel and tensile strength of the fastener (up to 1600 MPa) ensures durability and permits decrease in cross section and mass of the component. Corrosion tests of the fasteners in an atmosphere containing potassium salts for six months confirm that there is no need to apply anticorrosive coatings to the coatings. Such fasteners may be used in railroad and aviation systems, for example. This is a useful contribution to Russia’s import substitution program.
