Abstract
This study expects to find out which is the type of schooling that best suits to students with (dis)ability that require extensive and generalized educational supports, from the perspective of management teams. Basic forms of schooling are considered regular classrooms in ordinary schools, specialized classrooms in ordinary schools, and special education schools. The design used has a qualitative character, typical of a comprehensive descriptive study. For this study, nine managers from schools of primary and secondary education in the Region of Murcia have been selected, in whose schools there are specialized open classrooms. We have chosen the semi-structured interview method for collecting the data. The results show that specialized open classrooms are the type of schooling that managers consider that best responds to the needs of students that require extensive and generalized educational supports throughout their schooling. If we take the principles of inclusive education as a reference, this type of schooling is far from the goal to be achieved. For this, it will be necessary to generate a transformation of the regular classrooms, as well as a greater social awareness that allows the inclusive schools to be a reality in a short time.
