Eminence of oxidants on structural–electrical property of Polypyrrole

The chemical oxidative approach has been followed for the synthesis of two types of polypyrrole (PPy) using dissimilar oxidizing agent for example ammonium peroxydisulfate (APS) and ferric chloride (FeCl 3 ). Afterward, electrical resistivity and morphological study have been carried out using two-probe technique and scanning electron microscopy (SEM), respectively. X-ray diffractometry techniques were used to know the crystalline or amorphous nature of the prepared polymers. Thermogravimetric analysis study tells about the thermal stability of the prepared polymer which has been identified in the nitrogen atmosphere. It has been observed that PPy prepared with APS and FeCl 3 oxidant displays resistivity well in which FeCl 3 shows higher conductivity of 2.22 × 10 − 4 S/cm than APS having a conductivity value of 0.16 × 10 − 4 S/cm. It has been found that 1 M and 2 M concentrations of monomer and FeCl 3 oxidant, respectively, have achieved better thermal stability compared with APS.
