摘要
Introduction Eagle Syndrome is a rare condition characterized by localized pain in the temporomandibular joint, throat and base of the tongue, triggered by swallowing, chewing or neck movement, caused by the pathological prolongation of the styloid process. The most common symptoms are unilateral pain in the jaw, neck or ears; sore throat; strange pharyngeal sensation; tinnitus, etc. Positive diagnosis is basically determined by computerized tomography with 3D reconstruction, and rarely clinically, when the tip of the styloid process can be thrown in the throat. There are 2 forms: classic and vascular Eagle syndrome. Both treatments are surgical. Materials and Methods A patient's clinical case, from diagnosis to treatment, will be presented. Conclusions Although Eagle's syndrome is a rare condition, it must be properly recognized and treated, and so we can interrupt a long series of visits to the doctor without any satisfactory patient outcome.
