Abstract
We demonstrate a silicon-organic hybrid (SOH) slot-waveguide modulator that is based on a temperature-stable organic electro-optic material. The 750 mu m-long device features a U pi L product below 0.5 Vmm and permits PAM4 transmission at symbol rates (line rates) of 140 GBd (280 Gbit/s) with sub-1V drive signals. (C) 2022 The Author(s)
