Robust Frequency Control of Provisional Microgrid by Using of a Combined Fuzzy Reset Approach

In addition to the general benefits of conventional microgrids, provisional microgrids allow the utilization of a higher percentage of renewable sources with economic considerations, and this paper presents a new approach for controlling the frequency and ensuring stability of this type of microgrid. The proposed control technique uses the reset scheme for robust frequency regulation and the improvement of transient and lasting responses, and the fuzzy technique is used to obtain the optimal values of the reset approach coefficients. The proposed jointed robust scheme is implemented on a provisional microgrid system in which the nonlinear model of different elements is used and the uncertainty of the load due to changes in consumer behavior and the disturbance affecting the production of renewable sources in master and slave microgrids are considered. The results of the implementation of the proposed scheme show the rapid adjustment of the provisional microgrid frequency under the most severe load changes and perturbations as well as the improvement of the transient and stable behavior of the overall system.
