Micromechanical modelling of deformation and failure of mxene nanosheets

摘要
This work aims the development of the finite element model and prediction of the mechanical behaviour of multi-layered MXene nanosheets. MXene has recently discovered two-dimensional nanomaterial, which seems to be a promising multifunctional nanofiller for polymer matrix composites, providing great electrical and mechanical properties. The motivation of this work is based on the fact that until now there is no comprehensive theoretical and experimental research showing mechanical properties of MXenes under different loadings. The clarification of these properties are the first step on using MXenes for selfsensing application in fibre reinforced plastic composites.
