Buddie: Design Exploration for Remote Interactions to Support Kids.

We present Buddie , a prototype designed to support remote interaction utilizing a mobile app and a soft toy. The project was initially created to facilitate remote parent-child communication for parents who are physically separated from their children due to work commitments. Because of the widespread prevalence of Covid-19, many parents avoided business trips. We broadened our research to include not only children and their parents, but also teachers, families, and friends. In this pictorial, we present the design process of Buddie , final prototypes, and a case study with two children and their parents.
