摘要
The detection, quantification, and standardization of peanut allergens across products that do contain or potentially might contain them are a key area of interest for patients and clinicians.1,2 In particular, the question of whether a product has a peanut allergen has implications for quality control when assuring that products either: (1) do not contain allergens or (2) contain allergens within a target range.3-5 Recently, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued a recall in December 2022 on lots of peanut allergen skin test extracts that did not perform as expected because of a higher than normal rate of false-negative skin tests in truly allergic patients.
