摘要

•Catalyst with 1 wt% of Pt in ceria enables CO oxidation only at T > 100 °C.•Pt/CeO2 catalysts with 8 and 20 wt% Pt loading mediate CO oxidation below 0 °C.•CO oxidation above room temperature occurs with participation of mobile lattice oxygen.•CO oxidation below 0 °C is proposed to occur via weakly co-adsorbed O2 and CO on PtOx clusters.
