Abstract
•The effects of maximum stress intensity factor, stress ratio, frequency, waveform and holding time on the corrosion fatigue crack growth rate of a nickel base alloy in supercritical water were studied experimentally.•A logarithmic linear model was presented for the effects of maximum stress intensity factor and frequency on corrosion fatigue crack growth rate.•The complex effects of waveform and holding time on crack propagation rate were discussed.•The mechanism of fatigue crack propagation in supercritical water is determined as dynamic embrittlement.
