Two different phase field models of the explicit material point method for brittle dynamic fracture

•Two phase field crack models based on the material point method are proposed.•Based on GPU parallel acceleration, a numerical program for material-point phase-field cracks has been developed.•The homogeneous and nonhomogeneous performance of the two models are discussed in this paper.•The applicability and computational efficiency of the algorithm were verified using classical benchmark examples.
