Investigating predictors of driving immediately after consuming cannabis: A study of medical and recreational cannabis users in Australia

•Almost half the sample reported driving immediately after consuming cannabis.•26.8% of participants reported waiting a sufficient time to avoid drug driving.•173,455 drug driving events were anticipated by the sample in the next year.•Medically prescribed users were willing to wait longer before driving.•Offending behaviours stem from a history of drug use, and a lack of perceived risk.
