Benchmarking Outcomes of Surgical Aortic Valve Replacement in Patients with Bicuspid Aortic Valves.

In this nationally-representative study, 30-day mortality was similar but risk-adjusted 5-year mortality was significantly lower in bicuspid patients undergoing isolated SAVR compared to tricuspid patients, specifically low-risk and normal left ventricular ejection fraction patients. This analyses provides a much-needed 5-year longitudinal national-level benchmark to better inform the discussion of transcatheter vs SAVR in bicuspid patients.
