However, widespread implementation of this initiative was met with poor uptake. Noted barriers for resident participation included logistics such as secure storage space in addition to the time burden and effort of video editing. Therefore, to increase and incentivize resident participation in intraoperative video recording, we designed a resident video review challenge. Herein, we describe the design and early outcomes of this competition.
