The authors of this letter contributed to the development of International Standard ISO 14117 titled “Active implantable medical devices — Electromagnetic compatibility — EMC test protocols for implantable cardiac pacemakers, implantable cardioverter defibrillators and cardiac resynchronization devices,” which was cited as a basis for this study. We agree that it is crucial to raise awareness about the potential of smart devices equipped with bioimpedance sensing for causing electrical interference in cardiac implantable electronic devices (CIEDs). In their letter, the authors raised a concern that may give the impression that we were unaware of the lack of specific tests for devices with bioimpedance technology in the ISO 14117 standard.
