Chimeric Antigen Receptor T Cells as Salvage Therapy for Post-Chimeric Antigen Receptor T Cell Failure

•Use of a new chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cell construct for post-CAR T cell therapy (CART) relapse is safe and feasible.•A CAR T cell construct can be effective in the treatment of post-CART relapse.•Understanding factors that may limit efficacy of second or subsequent CART are needed to improve outcomes.•Optimizing durability of remission after subsequent CART strategies is needed.•Ongoing study of patients receiving multiple CAR T cell constructs will be needed to advance this therapeutic approach.
