摘要
Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a widely prevalent chronic inflammatory skin disease affecting approximately 25% of children and 7% of US adults, with considerable impact on sleep and quality of life of affected individuals.1,2 Moisturizers and topical corticosteroids (TCs) are the cornerstones of therapy.2 However, some patients experience side effects from TCs including skin atrophy, and adrenal suppression, especially with prolonged and widespread skin use.2 For these patients, topical calcineurin inhibitors (TCIs), and crisaborole, a phosphodiesterase-4 inhibitor, provided alternative topical anti-inflammatory options.
