Plant-inspired multi-environmentally adaptive, flexible, and washable solar steam generation fabric

Adaptive tree-like evaporator (ATE) with outer porous carbon nanotube (CNT) film/polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) photothermal layer as leaf and inner cotton fabric/CNT/PVA water transport layer as trunk and root, which is designed and fabricated by scalably weaving a functional core–shell wire side by side, enables fast point-fixed water transport, ready water extraction from various complex environments (e.g., wet soil and sand), and outstanding flexibility, thereby featuring impressive salt resistance and environmental adaption, as well as exceptional washability and recyclability.
