Abstract
•Two new SHORT VEGETATIVE PHASE genes were cloned from mango.•MiSVP3 and MiSVP4 delayed flowering time in transgenic Arabidopsis.•MiSVP3 resulted in defined inflorescences, while MiSVP4 resulted in abnormal floral organs.•MiSVP3 was sensitive to Pro-Ca treatment, while MiSVP4 was sensitive to GA3, Pro-Ca and ABA treatment.•Y1H, Y2H and BiFC assay revealed that MiSVP3 and MiSVP4 have different regulatory mechanisms.
