Abstract
•For the first time, genome wide genetic variants (SNPs &InDels) were identified and characterized in cashew by genome resequencing.•About 97% reads generated were mapped on to the draft genome and a total of 420560 SNPs and 26987 InDels were identified.•Developed 88 novel InDel markers for the first time for cashew and many were cross species transferable.
