摘要
Purpose: The main pathophysiology of acetabular dysplasia is an instability associated with abnormal bone morphology, resulting in pain, functional disability, and progression to osteoarthritis. Acetabular bone morphology is a very important target for diagnosis and surgical treatment, and various of evaluation indices have been developed. However, in clinical practice, abnormal bone morphology does not always correlate with symptoms. Recent improvements in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) accuracy have made it possible to detect changes in the soft tissues surrounding the hip joint. Moreover, radial array MRI is a relatively new technique that is effective for delineating most of the acetabular labrum. Because the labrum is annularly attached to the acetabular rim, it is difficult to visualize in conventional axial, coronal, and sagittal MRI views. By those developments, it has been reported that the articular labrum tends to be longer in patients with acetabular dysplasia, but its relationship to symptoms is not clear. The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between acetabular labral length and patient’s symptom in patient with acetabular dysplasia.
