Osteoarthritis Progression Leads To Neurochemical Brain Changes - Study In A Rat Model
Osteoarthritis and Cartilage(2023)
摘要
Purpose: One of the most common diseases among middle-aged and older adults is osteoarthritis (OA), which causes movement difficulties and chronic pain. The association between chronic pain, depression and anxiety has gained particular attention due to high rates of co-morbidity. This bad cycle of worry and pain can make patients’ life unbearable, and it is important to understand how these two problems correlate. The aim of this study was to examine the occurrence of depressive-like symptoms and pain development over 10 week period in an animal model of OA, with a particular focus on accompanying neurochemical brain changes.
