Exploring factors associated with preferences for human papillomavirus (HPV) self-sampling among racially- and ethnically-diverse women in Minnesota: A cross-sectional study

•Human papillomavirus self-sampling is an alternative cervical cancer screening tool.•Few women, across all racial/ethnic groups, had ever heard of this new tool.•The majority of women still prefer a traditional Pap test over self-sampling.•An opportunity exists to promote general educational efforts around self-sampling.
