Isotope evidence for Archean accordion-tectonics in the Superior Province

•Coeval juvenile growth and reworking at 3.3–3.25 Ga in the Winnipeg River terrane.•Zircon growth at 3.05 Ga potentially defines an episode of high-grade metamorphism.•Correlated igneous and metamorphic events amongst the plutonic-gneiss terranes.•Simultaneous growth of the granite-greenstone terranes between 3.1 Ga and 2.7 Ga.•Archean accordion-tectonics proposed for the evolution of the Superior craton.
