摘要

•A new potassium sulfonate flame retardant 1,3-Benzenedisulfonic acid dipotassium salt was prepared.•PC composites with KSP exhibited high flame retardancy and good mechanical properties.•Thin-walled PC composite samples can achieve UL-94 V-0 rating with only 0.01 wt% addition.•KSP is mainly exhibited a condensed phase flame retardant mechanism in PC.
