Interoceptive accuracy mediates the longitudinal relationship between attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) inattentive symptoms and disordered eating in a community sample

•Inattentive ADHD symptoms are associated with binge-type eating.•Interoception mediates the relationship between ADHD symptoms and binge-type eating.•Self-reported interoceptive accuracy but not interoceptive awareness is important.•Targeting interoception deficits may be helpful for prevention and/or treatment of binge eating.
