Catathrenia in possible progressive supranuclear palsy and corticobasal syndromes

•Catathrenia, moaning during sleep, is a rare disorder not previously associated with neurological disorder.•Catathrenia, may occur in PSP and corticobasal syndrome.•Catathrenia is probably more of a problem for bedmates than for patients.•It is suggested that this may be a common disorder in parkinsonian patients who moan during the day.
