Comparative study on microstructure and properties of laser welding and argon arc welding Hastelloy C-276/SS304 with filler wire

•The grain size of laser weld is smaller than that of argon arc weld.•The integral corrosion property is better than that of argon arc welded joint.•The intergranular corrosion property of laser welded joints is weaker than that of argon arc welded joints.•The anti-peel property of laser welded joint is 2.08 times higher than that of argon arc welded joint.
