Abstract
•Multi-scale simulations were performed to study laser shock peening processing on Ti alloy.•The effect of laser shock peening on the evolution of stress waves and dislocations was investigated.•The laser shock waves including the elastic wave and the plastic wave can be obtained.•The relationship between the dislocation length and the particle velocity can be obtained quantitatively.
