Effect of Si and Nb additions on carbonitride coatings under proton irradiation: A comprehensive analysis of structural, mechanical, corrosion, and neutron activation properties

摘要
•No short- or long-lived isotopes were observed in the samples after 288 h of irradiation with a neutron flux of 1.65 × 107n/(cm2 × sec).•After corrosion, the sizes of crystalline particles in the TiZrCN, TiZrSiCN and TiZrNbCN samples decreased.•The resistance of the Ti6Al4V alloy to attacks by 3.5 % NaCl was improved in all coatings.•TiZrSiCN coatings are good candidate for obtaining highly anticorrosive surfaces.
