ID: 208214 Comparison of Amplitude and Phase Synchronization in Detecting Functional Connectivity Alterations in Mesial Temporal Sclerosis
Neuromodulation: Technology at the Neural Interface(2023)
摘要
Temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE) is the most common form of refractory focal epilepsy1,2. Mesial temporal sclerosis (MTS) is a subtype of TLE and can cause severe complications3. Resting-state fMRI (rsfMRI) has been used to detect alterations in functional connectivity (FC) in patients with MTS4–6. Amplitude synchronization (AS) via seed-to-voxel analysis is a method used to detect FC from rsfMRI7,8. Phase synchronization (PS) is a technique used primarily with EEG to detect FC but has not been widely used in rsfMRI analysis9,10. In this study, we aimed to compare phase and amplitude synchronization in detecting temporal lobe FC alterations in MTS patients.
