摘要
Spinal Cord Stimulation (SCS) has been repeatedly shown to effectively induce substantial pain relief. Comprehensive safety data associated with the use of an SCS device for chronic pain assessed beyond 2-year follow-up has not been widely reported. This is particularly the case with regard to newly available systems equipped with enhanced technological capabilities. Hence, to evaluate the safety performance of SCS devices engineered with advanced programming capabilities and lead designs, we examined long-term rate of complications and explantation as collected from a large, prospective, multicenter, global SCS registry.
