Abstract
•A highly dispersed Co-based catalyst with strong metal-support interaction was synthesized.•The developed Co-MgF2-f-h catalyst exhibited excellent performance for cyclization of o-nitroaniline and benzyl-alcohol.•High performance was ascribed to small size and highly dispersed of Co species, as well as strengthened Co-MgF2 interaction.
