Study on a novel shielded double-winding Rogowski coil for measurement of nano-second current pulses

•A novel double-winding Rogowski coil is put forward. Characteristic of the coil is analyzed in theory.•The proposed coil has an advantage on reducing the interference caused by annular displacement current.•The proposed Rogowski coil has good high-frequency response characteristic for rectangular pulses with rise times as fast as 4 ns.
