Crystal structure, dielectric and magnetic properties of BaTiO3 –CoFe2O4 magneto-electric composites

The present work has the purpose to synthesize a multiferroics composite of (x)BaTiO3 + (1-x)CoFe2O4, where × can have value 0.60 and 0.80, by solid-state reaction technique. The structural phase formation, dielectric and magnetic properties of these composite were studied. X-ray diffraction (Xrd) pattern confirms the presence of both tetragonal and cubic phases. Further analysis of the sample was done by Rietveld refinement, which was used to confirm that the composite having tetragonal symmetry (P4mm) for BT phase and also cubic symmetry (Fd3m) for CFO phase exist, without any impurity. The dielectric constant value (ε΄) and dielectric loss value (tanδ) with variation of frequency (100 Hz-7 MHz) and temperature (RT to 573 K) were studied on the basis of M−W model and Koops’ model which show dispersion nature at low and higher frequency it become constant. The M−H loop was analysed for the study of magnetic properties of composite at room temperature with −15KOe to 15KOe applied field. The values of magnetic parameters like, remnant magnetization value (Mr) saturation magnetization (MS) value, and magnetic moment (µB) value were increased with ferrite amount.
